Affiliates are often exploited, that's right, I'll tell you about it.

You see.. affiliate marketing is used by mid-tier entrepreneurs to achieve passive word of mouth sale by offering commission in exchange for a lead... you'll get paid roughly $16.89 per sale after Gumroad and PayPal fees,

this means... if the seller demanded u to buy the product,

it will take you around 2.3 sales to make your money back.

"Okay, fine, but what if I can promote a product without buying it, then I kinda win, right?"

Wrong.

If u make a sale, then the seller just made money without doing anything,

The seller now privately owns the information of whoever purchased,

a.k.a.: "the email address, the customer, the lead, whatever you want to call it."

But why does this matter and what does this mean to him?

It means that (with your hard work), he can now up-sell or cross-sell (meaning: sell additional products) to that same person which you brought to him, or even refer that person to another gumroad seller, all he has to do is to write a few sales letters and run it as an email campaign;

this yields him additional profits oh ... but the worst part?
